Hello Dear Clients,
We have some BIG changes coming in 2026 that will impact tax credits and the overall cost on individual health insurance.
The most significant change is the expected federal sunset of the additional monies attributed to Advanced Premium Tax Credits, which were added during COVID-19 relief. These extra subsidies have not been renewed and as a result, many households will see higher monthly costs due to reduced tax credits.
For our Connect for Health Colorado clients, the biggest upcoming concern is the 400% Federal Poverty Level “income cliff”, effective January 1, 2026. Here’s why this matters: if a household earns just slightly over the 400% threshold, they may be required to repay all of their tax credits in one lump sum at tax time – a major financial burden!
To help ease the circumstances, our agency has added new products that may offer lower-cost alternatives if you no longer qualify for a tax credit. We’re committed to giving you every option to protect your finances while ensuring you keep the coverage you need.
Of course, we will continue to provide all of our current health insurance solutions, including:
- Connect for Health Colorado Plans
- Fully insured small and large group plans
- Partially self-funded group plans
- Medicare Supplements
- Accident, Dental, and Vision Coverage
We look forward to chatting with you at your upcoming appointment.
From all of us here at A+ Smart Health Insurance Agency,
Have a very healthy and happy holiday season!
